“Horseplay”

“Horseplay” is a colourful depiction of the chaos and excitement that is Banksy’s relationship with his dear friend, Pogo. This is the first of Banksy’s works.

He used his signature “aggressive brush throwing” technique to create unique patterns and even thought to add texture with stall shavings and some of the hair off of his muzzle. The colourful yellow splotches at the bottom are said to represent the bright and sunny dispositions of his best friends, Pogo and Milo.

Though, Milo having what would be classed as a sunny disposition is up for interpretation, much like this abstract painting.

With his varied styles of brush strokes and unique textural additions, he created a memorably chaotic homage to his life as a horse in a herd of geldings.
